You do not have to speak Spanish to be an aupair in Spain, land of fiestas and siestas, bull-fights, wine, incredible, fresh seafood and olive oil. Visit the wonderful castles, taste the Spanish nougat, experience ancient historical sites. Enjoy the beautiful beaches in the summer and explore the land of Don Quixote.

There is always a demand for aupairs and those with a qualification are highly valued. Families will give preference to applicants with the JCR childminding/aupair certificate. Obtain your aupair certificate now through the on-line JCR Aupair course. Benefit by being given priority placement.

Age group:
18 – 30 Single only. A holder of an EU passport applicants in their thirties will be considered.  Holders of an EU passport are not subject to any visa conditions.
Completed year 12 although applicants with year 10 completion will be accepted.
200 hours of baby sitting, care of younger family members or working with youth organisations, camp counselor, guides/scouts.
It is not necessary to be able to speak Spanish as you will be placed with a family where at least one member speaks some English but it would be in your own best interest to learn at least 200 words of Spanish prior to departure.
Positions are for 12 months.
Summer Aupair
over Mid June to Mid September only.
Attendance at a language school is a requirement of the visa. Attendance at language school is optional for holders of an EU passport.

Spain - gardensAUPAIR 

  1. Work for 25 hours per week.
  2. Baby sit for 2/3 evenings per week.
  3. Earn Euro 60-80 pocket money per week depending on experience.
  4. Attend language classes  [about Euro 36 per MONTH sometimes free of charge].
  5. Have own room and full board.
  6. 1 – 1.5 days free per week.
  7. Light housework.

AUPAIR PLUS

  1. Work for 40 hours per week.
  2. Baby sit 2/3 evenings a week.
  3. Have good experience in childcare or as a nanny and a reasonable command of Spanish.
  4. Attend language classes,
  5. Have own room and full board.
  6. 1 – 1.5 days free per week.
  7. Light housework.
  8. Weekly pocket money Euro 80+ depending on experience.

Families in Spain do not provide health insurance cover.

The above are guide lines only.  Each family has its own requirements. The program is a cultural exchange program. The pocket money and hours worked are controlled.
