There is always a demand for AU PAIRS and those with a qualification are highly valued. Families will give preference to applicants with the JCR childminding/aupair certificate. Obtain your aupair certificate now through the on-line JCR Aupair course. Benefit by being given priority placement.

Au Pair Plus, Mother’s Help, Nanny: Single Females only.
Age Group: 18-30.
Education: Completed year 12 or higher
Childcare Experience: Minimum 200 hours. This can be any fairly regular interaction with children not related to you, up to age 12. Mother’s Helps should have at least 6 months steady childcare experience and Nannies should be qualified and have at least 6 months professional childcare experience.
Period of commitment: 12/24 month placements all year round.
Visa: 24 month Working Holiday Visa

Applicants to Canada should speak fluent English.
Most placements are in the greater Vancouver area as the climate is not as harsh.
All positions are live in.
Salaries are quoted net of tax unless otherwise advised
You do have to pay your own airfare and provide your own health insurance cover.

AU PAIR PLUS

  • Work for 38 hours per week.
  • Child care from babies upwards plus light housework which could include cooking, laundry, shopping, vacuuming and dusting
  • Baby sit for 2/3 evenings per week
  • Be a non smoker
  • Have a valid driving license
  • Be willing and able to adapt to another culture
  • Have a good sense of responsibility and a positive attitude

MOTHER’S HELP

  • Work for 40 – 50 hours per week.
  • Child care from babies upwards plus light housework which could include cooking, laundry, shopping, vacuuming and dusting
  • Baby sit for 2/3 evenings per week.
  • Be a non smoker
  • Have a valid driving license
  • Be willing and able to adapt to another culture
  • Have a good sense of responsibility and a positive attitude

NANNY  

  • Work 40 –50 hours per week.
  • All childcare duties.
  • Have a nanny qualification
  • Be a non smoker
  • Minimum Age 20
  • Have a valid driving license
  • Preferably have 1 year full time work experience.
  • Be willing and able to adapt to another culture
  • Have a good sense of responsibility and a positive attitude

YOU GET

  • Your own comfortable room, shared or own bathroom

  • Two weeks paid holiday per year
  • Aupair Plus earns C$150 per week
  • Mother’s Help earns C$200 per week
  • Nanny earns C$250 per week

The 24 month WH Visa takes about 4 weeks to issue from time of applying.
You will need to show the Canadian Consulate that you have about $5000 available to you to be granted the visa. You apply for this visa in home country.

Apply for this program about 4-5 months in advance of when you wish to go.

Canada is well placed to visit Alaska, the United States of America and South America.

The amount paid to you is pocket money and should be accepted as that. It is suggested that should you wish to travel you take additional money or a credit/debit card.

CANADA WINTER AUPAIR

Single Females only.
Age Group:  18-30. 
Education: Completed year 12 or higher
Childcare Experience: Minimum 50 hours but up to 200 hours is preferred.
This can be any fairly regular interaction with children not related to you, up to age 12. 
Winter aupair placement: Mid to end November to mid to end February inclusive.  Applications open June and close end October.

Winter aupair applicants will work for private families in the North and West of Vancouver. Winter sports are held in the nearby mountains which are easily accessible by bus or a 10 minute drive by car. These ski fields on Grouse, Seymour and Cypress mountains are open every day and into the night and on weekends so aupairs can take advantage of weekend and great night skiing.   

Placements with families are also possible in Whistler and in nearby areas such as Pemberton.  Aupairs will be able to ski in their free time such as on weekends.
The winter ski fields are fun-top rate-world class.

All positions are live in. Salaries are quoted net of tax unless otherwise advised
You do have to pay your own round trip airfare and provide your own health insurance cover.

WINTER AU PAIR

Work 25-35 hours per week

  • Child care from babies upwards plus light housework which could include cooking, laundry, shopping, vacuuming and dusting
  • Baby sit for 1/2 evenings per week
  • Be a non smoker
  • Have a valid driving license
  • Be willing and able to adapt to another culture
  • Have a good sense of responsibility and a positive attitude

YOU GET

  • Your own comfortable room, shared or own bathroom
  • Full board and lodge
  • Two days free per week
  • Earn C$100-C$150 per week depending on age, experience and number of hours worked
  • Full back up and support from JCR’s associate in Canada
  • Full back up and support from JCR’s Head office in Australia
  • Telephone numbers of other young people to make contact with
  • Opportunity to meet other young people from all over the world.
