Canada (including French-speaking Canada) is the country of great lakes and great ice hockey! Amazing ski fields close by, music festival in Banff. There is always a demand for aupairs and those with a qualification are highly valued. Families will give preference to applicants with the JCR childminding/aupair certificate. Obtain your aupair certificate now through the on-line JCR Aupair course. Benefit by being given priority placement.

AUPAIR:

Age  18-30. 200 hours childcare experience. Females, non smokers, preferred. Preferably have a driving licence.
Live in Care Givers:
Upper age limit 45. Experience and qualifications as stated below.
Canadian families do not provide health care insurance cover.

AU PAIR PLUS

  • Require no formal training but should have some experience babysitting.
  • Work for 38 hours per week.
  • Duties include helping to care for the children, light housework and some cooking.
  • Two days per week free.
  • Earn Canadian $100 per week live-in.

Canada gardensMOTHER’S HELP

  • Requires no formal training but must have at least 200 hours experience in childcare.
  • Work for 40 – 50 hours per week.
  • Baby sit for 2 - 3 evenings per week.
  • Duties include caring for the children, light housework.
  • Must be able to drive.
  • Have 1.5 – 2 days or weekends free.
  • Earn from Canadian $150 per week, live in.

NANNY  

  • Minimum certificate 2/ level 2.
  • Age 20 upwards [upper age limit dependant on visa].
  • Preferable 1 year full time work experience.
  • Work 40 – 50 hours per week.
  • Must have a driving licence.
  • All childcare duties.
  • 2 days free per week.
  • Earn between Canadian $200 - 250 net per week.

There is NO actual Au Pair/Mother’s Help Visa for Canada. International girls can enter Canada on a 180 day visitor visa to stay with a host family on “homestay”. The aupair will be able to renew the visa for a further 180 days. When staying with a family on “homestay” the aupair would assist the Homestay host family, as any courteous guest would do. Many girls from all over the world are currently in Canada on Homestay.
You may apply to go to Canada on the reciprocal 12 month Working Holiday Visa. Full details on applying for this visa will be  provided. Working Holiday visas are limited to 4000 per year for Australia and 400 per year for New Zealand.

LIVE IN CARE GIVER PROGRAM

This visa permits you to stay in Canada for up to 3 years.
To qualify under this program you must have succesfully completed the equivalent of Canadian grade 12 education. i.e. Final year high school. You must have successfully completed 6 months of full time training or 12 months of experience in paid employment in the field or occupation related to the job as live in care giver, e.g. child care. You may have completed your training as part of your formal education. You must have completed one year of full time paid employment, including at least 6 months of continuous employment with one employer in the live in childcare field within three years prior to applying for the visa.

You must speak, understand and read fluently, English or French. You must be able to function independently as a sole charge person in a home setting as a live in care giver.
Arrangements can be made for Australians and New Zealanders to apply for this visa once they have arrived in Canada.  Full details will be given of all the documentation that is required.
