AU PAIR, be a MOTHER'S HELP or NANNY IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
 
JCR Aupairs & Nannies is the most trusted aupair/nanny agency for safe and secure placements and "in country" back up and support.

Au pair. Mother's Help and Nanny Age group: 18 - 30  
Mainly females but males can apply.

Education: Completed year 10 or higher

Childcare Experience: Minimum 100 hours aupair/aupair plus. 200 hours for mother's help. This can be any fairly regular interaction with children not related to you, up to age 12.  Experience with children related to you is acceptable but only in addition to that of non related children.   All applicants to the Nanny program must have a suitable child care qualification.

Period of commitment: 12 month placements all year round. Families welcome stays of 24 months.  
3 month Summer au pair placements are not available.

Visa: 2 year Youth Mobility Visa age limit 18-30 incl. Only Australian, Canadian, New Zealand and Japanese passport holders may apply for this visa.
5 year Ancestral visa. No age limit.
Right of Abode Visa. No age or length of stay limit.
British /EU passport. No age or length of stay limit.

Ancestral Visa, Right of Abode UK or EU passport holders are not restricted by age and families will accept candidates over the age of 30.

All positions are live in. All salaries are quoted net of tax.
You pay your own airfare.  As this is a 2 year visa you would fly on a one way ticket.    
Australian passport holders are able to use the British National Health scheme as they would use Medicare.  Canadians, New Zealanders and Japanese provide their own health insurance cover.

AU PAIR OR AU PAIR PLUS
  • Work 25-35 hours per week.
  • No formal training required but should have some babysitting experience.
  • Childcare and light housework which could include, shopping, dusting, vacuuming, ironing.
  • Babysit 2/3 evenings per week.
  • Be a non smoker.
  • Must be able to drive, preferably a manual car.
  • Be willing and able to adapt to another culture.
  • Have a good sense of responsibility and a positive attitude.
  • Be emotionally mature, flexible and able to adapt easily.

IN YOUR AU PAIR WORLD YOU GET
  • Your own comfortable room, shared or own bathroom.UK
  • Full board and lodge.
  • 2 days free per week.
  • Earn between £80 - 120 per week live in, depending on age, experience and number of hours worked.
  • 4 weeks paid holiday leave per year.
  • Full back up and support from JCR's associates in the UK and JCR's head office.
  • Telephone numbers of other aupairs.
  • Opportunity to meet other young people from all over the world.
MOTHER'S HELP - most common placement
  • Work for 45-50 hours per week.
  • No formal training required but must have at least 200 hours childcare experience as. often there is an element of sole charge childcare.
  • Childcare and light housework which could include, shopping, dusting, vacuuming, ironing.
  • Baby sit for 2/3 evenings per week.
  • Be a non smoker.
  • Must be able to drive, preferably manual.
  • Be willing and able to adapt to another culture.
  • Have a good sense of responsibility and a positive attitude.
  • Be emotionally mature, flexible and able to adapt easily.

IN YOUR MOTHER'S HELP WORLD YOU GET
  • Your own comfortable room, shared or own bathroom
  • Full board and lodge.
  • Minimum 1 and half days free.
  • Earn between £125 and 200 per week live in, depending on age and experience. Mother’s Helps with really excellent full time childcare experience can earn £225 per week.
  • Four weeks paid holiday per year.
  • Full back up and support from JCR's associates in the UK.
  • Telephone numbers of other aupairs.

NANNIES
  • Must have formal childcare training up to diploma level. Have a nursery or pre-school teacher's qualification OR have a minimum of two years of verifiable experience as a live-in care giver with infants and toddlers and are aged at least 19 years old OR be experienced in childcare as a group leader, teacher or nurse. You must be familiar with all aspects of childcare and have had some professional childcare experience.
  • Long hours, about 60+ per week as sole-charge responsibility for the children.
  • Duties will include doing everything for the children such as cooking, bedrooms, laundry etc.  Light housework could be included.
  • Babysitting by arrangement.
  • Be a non smoker.
  • Must be able to drive, preferably manual.
  • Be willing and able to adapt to another culture.
  • Have a good sense of responsibility and a positive attitude.
  • Be emotionally mature, flexible and able to adapt easily.
IN YOUR NANNY WORLD YOU GET
  • Your own comfortable room, shared or own bathroom.
  • Full board and lodge.
  • Minimum one and a half day free per week.
  • Earn between £225 and 275 per week, live in. Pay will depend on age and experience.
  • Four weeks paid holiday per year.
  • Full back up and support from JCR's associates in the UK and JCR's head office.
  • Telephone numbers of other aupairs.

General Information

JCR doesn't offer live out placements. All placements with a family are live in.

The UK program is not a controlled program so rates of pay are market driven. Family requirements and the rate of pay offered will differ in each position. Ask us to tell you about various families looking. The above is a guide line only and will vary.

UK families do not provide airfare
UK families do not provide health insurance cover

In general the process for the youth mobility visa takes about 4 - 6 weeks.
You will need to show the British High Commission that you have a certain amount of money available to you before the visa will be issued.

You should apply for this program at least 4 months in advance of when you wish to go

The UK is well placed to visit Ireland, all of Europe, Scandinavia, New York.

The amount paid to you will enable you to do lots of touring. It is suggested that should you wish to travel in Europe, you take additional money with you or a debit card.

There is always a demand for aupairs/mother's helps and those with a qualification are highly valued. Families will give preference to applicants with the JCR childminding/aupair certificate. Obtain your childminding/ aupair certificate now through the on-line JCR Aupair course. Benefit by being given priority placement.
