I have been to Bath, Oxford, Cheltenham and London, Bath and Oxford were fantastic and UKI really enjoyed visiting.  Also had a great time in London seeing all the sights, really really enjoyed the London Eye, could see for miles.  Went shopping in Harrods and on Oxford and Regent Sts, saw Trafalga Sq and Piccadilly Circus - felt like I was playing monopoly!  Went through Westminster Abby, interesting....

I went to Italy and to Warrinton to see a family friend over Easter, then to Prague last weekend with another friend. I have enjoyed my time with my host family and have been treated very well and give lots of travel opportunities etc. thank you for this opportunity. I have had a great year, with the JCR program.

I'm having a great time in London and since arriving I've already been to Florence, Nice,Toulouse, HollandDublin and I've just come back from a one week holiday in Barcelona, staying with a school friend who is doing her gap year in Gloustershire.  From Barcelona, I spent the weekend with my best friend's sister in Paris for her 21st birthday and it was amazing. Whilst in Dulwich, I have already formed life long friendships with some aupairs who live very close to me.  In a particular I have built a strong friendship with a German aupair, called Dorle.  Her host children are the same age as Lauren and Giles and consequently, they are alway over here playing and having tea with us, which is really nice.

Dear Sybil
How are you?
Just to let you know that I am having a wonderful time here in England. Really happy with my host family.

Doreen in the UK.

I'm just writting to let you know that i am settling in well. Everyone has been very acomadating and friendly. And i think i can se myself settling in here quiet well. I'm geting along with the family quite well although the 4 children can be exhasting at times, but now they are all back at school things are setling down and getting into some routine. Some of the perks are the nice big swimming pool, spa, sauna and solarium. I have already been to wales and stayed at their house there, and later on in the year we are going around the UK  and a little of Europe and then off to Thailand for three weeks. I just want to say thankyou, i found a great family.

I really don't know where to begin.  It was one of the best years of my life and I am so very thankful I chose to go on the JCR program. The family I worked for had to be the best family in all of England and I'm sure I had the best job in England.  From the moment I arrived they treated me like part of the family.  They were friendly, fun, caring, fair, generous and considerate.  They immediately made me feel welcome, wanted and important.
There were four children all under the age of six and they were all just adorable.  I quickly formed a very tight bond with the children and also with my host mum. UK Yes there were some trying times, but it was at these times that my host parents were most caring and considerate.
Whilst living with my host family, I was also able to learn a lot about the English culture and traditions.  I discovered a lot about English food, art, history and sport, and it was all just fantastic.  I can remember the first time I went to a shooting meet.  All the horseman were gathered around in their red coats on their white horses as one of them was giving a speech.  At the end of the speech they all said "here, here" in that very proper english accent.  I was just amazed - I didn't even realise they still did that.
When I think about my time in England as an au-pair, there is only one thing that makes me sad and that is the fact that I cannot go back and do it again.  My only wish is that they would change the rules in the UK so that we could get a second visa.

Tina.

I thought I would write quickly to say thankyou for giving me this fantastic opportunity. I've been here for about 10 months now. I am having a great time.  I have made many friends, its going to be really difficult to leave when I have to go.
